Black tank leak

I found water dripping from the black water tank where the black flush water line connects to the black tank ( male side ) everything is tight, been going on awhile, it was soaked from the axle back. Anyone had to do this before? Hoping I don’t need to drop tank thanks… 2019 whitehawk 24 mbh

Flex Seal actually works really well. I discovered a stress crack in the bottom of a black tank which I repaired with flex seal. I was skeptical but it really worked. I used the tape but I understand the liquid works quite well. That is if you can access the leak.

I thought about flex seal it’s good stuff, but I don’t think it’ll work in this case, the leak is coming from inside the fitting, I may try it anyway when I find out what it will cost to replace the fitting….. thanks

Mine screws in, all I would need to do is remove and reinstall. Do you have a photo

Can you unscrew it and put pipe dope or Teflon tape on the threads. I have had better luck with pipe dope

Thanks for answering, I’ll look at it in the morning, the black dot is where the water is coming from. So the thin nut is the one that comes off?

I use a hand tool like this. I keep it in the motorhome with some PEX just in case. It's a one hand tool that gets in almost anywhere

That black part unscrews and would be hand tight or 1/8 turn more, just enough not to leak

At the end of our last trip, and flushing tanks at the campground, I noticed water dripping from the other side of the camper. At home, it did the same. This is on #2 black tank flush. It's going for warranty work in October, so will add to the list.

Thanks for your help Bill, I couldn’t stand it I had to go out and look,, it isn’t leaking from the supply side, it’s actually leaking from the tank side. The only way that could be fixed you would probably have to take the tank off. I took the 1/2 connector off, thinking about putting a valve in place of the connector, of course that means I will have to open the valve to use the tank flush or I could use a one way valve .You can see by the picture that it’s been going on for awhile when we’re using the tank

Isn't that a threaded opening going into the tank? Won't the white plastic thread, unthread, the white piece from the opaque piece. Doesn't the tank have threads? I wonder if the opaque plastic piece can be removed and some blue pipe thread compound put on everything. Camping World had to replace my freshwater tank under warranty 3 times and the finally used the blue pipe thread compound and it stopped leaking. My tank had threads in the tank and all the PVC parts threaded into that maybe yours is that way. Just unscrew everything and reseal it. Just remember that the threads are plastic and it only needs to be snug. Was that blown out when it was winterized so no water sat there and possibly cracked a fitting.

Yes the connector is threaded into the tank, that’s what I’m going to do , get a a new piece and use sealant to put it back together…. Thanks Bill

We have a 24RBS and our black tank sprung a leak- the dealer had to drop the tank and spinweld a new inlet for the flush line - QC issue for sure
