Black tank sprayer

I have a 2010 Eagle. When I attach hose to the black tank connection on the side of the trailer to rinse the black tank out I have a water leak in side the trailer unless I turn the water on very slowly. The leak is in the connection that prevent (I guess) odor from the black tank escaping.

Can I remove that connection and pipe the water directly into the black tank? My other campers did not have that and I never had a problem.

Your comments would be greatly apprecited.

The component you mention is a one-way valve that prevents backflow from the black tank. If leaking, like mine was, it should be replaced, and definitely NOT eliminated. If you eliminate it, you risk contaminating the water source used for the flush. They are not expensive, and mine took about 15 minutes to replace (located under bathroom sink). Some hard to reach locations might require more time, but you definitely should do the replacement, or have someone do it for you.
