Black water tank

What us the white shelf in the tank for. Seems to catch and hold waste sometimes plugging toilet.

There shouldn't be any "shelf" the tank should be smooth, and the bottom should gently slope to the discharge port....

Some tanks so have a "partition" to keep liquids from sloshing when traveling. Perhaps that is what your "seeing". I assume with a camera?

Whitehawk 23mrb. Can see straight down toilet hole. No camera needed beccause it comes across hole. Has caused one clog so now i watch close.

Did you try and stick something down there and try and move it? It could be some sort of construction debris. When we purchased our unit, I looked down the toilet and there were 2 pieces of trim in there about 10" long. It was a b*tch getting them out. As stated above, there shouldn't be anything down there.

All manner of things seem to find their way into holding tanks as they make their way thru the factories. When you look down thru the toilet you should see a 3" round hole all the way to the bottom of the tank (provided the tank is empty). Anything else doesn't belong there.
