BMPRO Jaycommand outside / inside temperature readings

Hello everyone. New to the forum.

Recently purchased a Whitehawk 24MBH. I have found that the inside and outside temperature readings seem to be flipped on the Jaycommand display. This caused some furnace control issues. Had to wake up every couple of hours to start or stop the heater.

My initial uneducated guess is that the wiring for these two sensors is flipped at the node. Any thoughts ?

And where is the node located on the trailer ?

Hope you have it figured out by now, but the node is in the basement. I found mine and bought some extra in line fuses in case, or when, they blow I will have them on hand. One fuse for motors and the other for everything else.

Thanks. I had contacted Jayco & Bmpro (Bmpro just referred me back to Jayco) and they gave me the location of the node. It was right behind the control module in a cupboard. I removed the cupboard door and a panel to gain access.

Of course, they explained that if I touched the node it would void the warranty. Well I couldn't wait 2-3 months for this to be resolved.

I used a blow dryer to confirm my suspicions by placing heat on each sensor and watching the readings. The External Temp Sensor was wired to AC1 port on the node and the internal sensor was wired to the external temp port on the node.

I did have to splice the wires as it did not seem the wires going to the node would come out. I did not want to mess with it too much. Maybe they come out but I couldn't figure it out.

Everything works as intended now.

Glad it was an easy fix. Smart move using the blow dryer. This post got me thinking and I reviewed others. Mine has inside/outside temp displays but I have no sensor (that I can locate) or reading for outside temp.

Here are what my sensors look like. Looks like little piece of plastic.

I have those inside but nothing outside. What's your outside sensor look like?

Mine had that same sensor outside. Up towards the top by the awning. At about the middle of the trailer.

That is strange. There has to be a sensor somewhere, right? Good luck on the hunt !

I have a 2021 White Hawk 32RL with JayCommand and it only shows "Room" and "Set" temps on the screen. Should I also have an "external" temp reading? Also, my "Room" temp is hovering between 120 and 145 degrees with the "set" temp at 78 degrees. Fan runs constantly on Cool-A. I can only assume it is because the "room" temp stays high. I only see one temperature sensor which is located about 2 feet from the JayCommand center. Any ideas as to what is causing my high room temp reading?

Make sure to download The Jaycommand app. That is the only place I can see the external temperature on mine. That internal temp seems a little high.

I have a 171BH (new model this year) and there are both outside and inside temperature sensors. But I cannot find the "Outside temperature" on either the app or the Jaycommand display. Any 171BH Owners out there who have figured this out?
Thanks,
David

Thanks for the info. Ours is a 2021 jayco jay feather 22RK and barely one week with it. We checked it by putting a frozen veggie bag on the outside sensor and the room temperature reading dropped fast. It was having the same problem and now it’s fixed cause I followed your steps. Didn’t have to splice any wires. Just pushed down on the white tabs.

I found ours underneath the awning just above one of the entry doors.

The only place I have ever seen the outside temp reading is on the app home screen. It is at the top and small. Only on the home screen.

We have a 2022 Whitehawk with this same issue! Can get the heat right because it says its 25 inside when its hot as heck!

On the App I see only one temp though.

I can extend the awning and the temp drops fast - so I am sure my sensor is wired wrong and will try that

I looked all over for an inside prob and cant find it - where are yours?

Bill

I have two ACs, if you don't then probably why you only see one indoor temp reading. On mine the #2 AC and exterior sensors were reversed so it only affected the performance of the bedroom AC.
My interior temp sensors are about waist high on the wall. One between bathroom door and bedroom door (Main) and one just inside bedroom door near light switch (#2).

#2 is only connected to the 2nd AC. The Main sensor is connected to the main AC and to the furnace.

See post #5 in this thread to see what they look like. I can only speak to mine; don't know how others are set up.

Good luck

Our 24MBH were also reversed at the main controller. It was a simple fix swapping the wires luckily. Also showed me how everything is wired and controlled which was useful when my slide wouldn’t work. Realized one of the wires wasn’t in the controller. Pretty nifty little setup they have with that controller having everyone terminate at one location like that.

@KrazyTraveler I also have the 2021 22RK. My furnace is all the way down to 33 which is the lowest it will go and won’t shut off. Temps are SO wrong! Both in heat and cooling. I can’t find white tabs. Could you please describe where you found those?

I think if you look at post #3 in this thread you will see the white tabs spoken of. Pushing in on a tab allows for removal/insertion of the wire without any cutting or splicing. This is where the sensors (wires) are connected to the controller, not the actual temp sensors.
On my 274CKDS this controller is behind a panel in a cabinet right behind the little display/control panel.
