BOVAIR 2018 New to Jayco form - furnace problem

I have bought a 2016 Jayco Feather Light 20 BH and do not have any manuals with it. My heater stopped working and can not figure out how to get to it. The heater is under the couch, there is no outside panel access. does anyone know what I have to do do access it and how to troubleshoot it ?

Welcome! Jayco has manuals on their site, here's a link to the 2016 models. Hopefully one of them will help you out.

You may have to get the make and model #, then google the info online.

Even if there were a mention of it in the owners manual, it likely would not be any troubleshooting info included.

Process of elimination. Is there gas at the unit? Can you hear the magnetic igniter clicking? Is the thermostat working? Have you jumped the thermostat?

Thank you for replying. Yes the thermostat works for AC, Fan but not on heat. It has gas going to the stove burners. I do not hear the magnetic igniter clicking. The unit is under the couch so I have to figure out how to remove the couch to get the cover off the heater, no out side panel to access the furnace.

The actual heater is under the couch? or is it the exhaust fan? I agree with mharrison that you should find some type of a manual for "rv heater under the couch". If you can't, I am the kind of guy who would remove the couch just so I know what's in my rig that could catch on fire. The ignition system should be located where it can pull in air. An intake vent. Removing the intake vent should give you a better look.

I looked at what I thought was the right manual and there is no mention of the furnace location or how to access it. Wow it's a pretty generic manual! Mine doesn't state the location either, seems these manuals cover all models of the same category. This is my first TT so I'm still learning.

Welcome from Western NY! If you have an Atwood furnace, there's a hidden reset switch on the top surface of the furnace unit. You'll have to remove the wooden box, or at least the top, to see it. Good luck.

If it's like my old 26BH, you have to remove the sofa then remove the laun covering to access the heater. As JFlightRisk, mentioned, there is a reset switch on the furnace unit that needs to be turned off then back on to reset it.

Yes, but the blower does not turn on. In a YOUTUBE video they said the blower should be running so the switch is moved then the igniter for the gas should fire. I think the blower motor might be bad so I will have to figure out how to test it.

I removed the couch and tried the reset switch. The blower motor is not running so I think I have to figure out how to take the cover off to test the motor. this is a door less unit.

Thanks for your reply to my heater problem. Took the circuit board out and had it tested at Camping World. It was covered in dust from 11 yrs of no cleaning and the board shorted out. I ordered a replacement board on line to replace it for 1/2 the cost Camping World wanted.

So Camping World tested your board for free then you bought a new one someplace else. Just sayin'...

I'm sure you made a typo, but how does a 2016 trailer's heater have 11 years of dust on it?
Just being picky, welcome to the forum!
