Brake wires?

I changed the tires on my 195RB last weekend and noticed that the right side brakes have electrical leads but there aren't any wires hooked to them. The left side is connected. I know they work (at least one). Question: Do they operate in tandem? Does the left activate the right side. I'm a little confused.
Thanks

They are daisy chained. So depending on where the wire is broken, would dictate how many brakes you would loose.

When we purchased our HTT, I crawled under the TT and pulled up all the loose wires, including the brakes. It looked as if a piece of road debris could easy snag them and break the wire.

You can contact Jayco for the wiring diagram, to determine exactly how to properly rewire for tandem axles.

When I was under the trailer, which is single axle, I didn't see any wires that looked that they had come undone. Nothing was hanging. The leads out of the brake didn't look like they had broken wires that had come loose. Just curious.

Wonder if the operator went to lunch and forgot to finish the job when he got back. There should be a wire that is zip tied or taped to the outside of the axle from one side to the other. At least that is how they did it on my TT.

No matter what, you want even braking on both sides of the TT. if it is fairly new, check on a warranty claim. If out of warranty, time to just fix it.

Good luck,

That is exactly what I was thinking. I didn't know if there was some magical way that the right brake knew when to activate. Time to run wires from the left brake to the right. Thanks

Sometimes they run the connecting wire thru a hole in the axle and out on the other side. No matte how, the wires should all be tied into the brake assembly wires on the working side for both wheels to work. On the working side there should be 2 wires from the front already spliced into the working side. That's where the other side should be connected.

If it's not a warranty issue, I would just tie a pair of wires 10 gauge to the working wheel and zip tie it to the wires in the brake assembly wires that are loose and secure them with tie wraps. Polarity is not an issue.

Make sure all connections are soldered or made weatherproof.

I have a 2014 FB22 TT (tandem axle) and i have the same issue. Driver side drums are wired and passenger side drums are not. The wires coming out of the passenger side drum are cut off with about 2-3 inches of pigtail left. Odd. I don't think this is normal.
