Brakes Haunted

Hi Folks
When I plug in the main plug to tow Vehicle one of the trailer breaks
cycles on and off with a slight groan??
It stops when I unplug.
Controller has power all the time and ignition doesn't seem to
affect the noise .
Brakes seem to work fine otherwise.
Dexter axles and prodigy controller.
Any Thoughts??

Brakes Haunted

Of course! It is Halloween after all...

My thoughts are questions:
What is your tow vehicle?
What is your trailer?
Your trailer brakes cycle on and off only when you are not moving? How do you know?

electric brakes make no noise when they have no power.. when you put on the brake they should make a humming noise at each wheel... usually you have to be right next to the wheel(s) to hear it... if the brake is NOT applied they make no sound...

other option is to raise the trailer wheels off the ground plug it in and see if the wheels spin or if the brakes are being applied or it isn't a brake sound... it is something else...

Thanks for the replays
Tried jacking up and spinning wheel no Brake resistance when it makes the noise or Hum.
Notice when controller is manually operated a Red C stays on for about 3 minutes that is when the noise happens.
After the screen goes out the noise or Hum stops.
Ford E450 with Prodigy Controller, and a Haulmark trailer.
Could it be a self diagnosis feature??
Thanks

On etrailer I found this:

"The "C" on your Prodigy brake controller like # 90185 means that you have a trailer connected. Your brake controller is simply recognizing there is a draw on the brake output and your brakes should work well. When you hit your manual override or your brake pedal that should change to a voltage output reading with numbers. ...snip...
The "C" should change to "NC" when the trailer is not connected."

You'll probably need to contact Prodigy to troubleshoot your controller.
