Broken string on blinds.

We have a 2008 Jayco Eagle. The string that hooks to the plastic button on the bottom has let go. The blind will not stay up now. Is this a big job to repair it? Can it be fixed without removing the blind? Thanks for any help.

You will have to take the blind down, but the good news is it's not a big job. I did this not that long ago on our bedroom shade. You can buy a string repair kit from your dealers parts dept, or from CW, enough in kit for several fixes. There's (5) 20 foot strings, (3) springs, a bunch of plastic grommets, and anchors. The whole shade/valence assembly came off ours with two screws through angle brackets, the shade was two more screws into the valence, and it's in your hand. The kit has instructions for both the night shade, and day/night shade styles. Really not a complicated repair once you look at how it's put together.

I think I paid about 15.00 for the kit, sounds like a bit much, but will fix several blinds over the years. Any concerns, feel free to ask. Also, take off the plastic end caps carefully. Sometimes they are stubborn, and may chip the edge. Pry gently!

Did the string break or did it just come out of the button? One of mine came out on the last trip,I just removed the button and reinstalled the string.

I am not sure what happened. I am not at the lake right now, I will check when I go back. Is this the right kit?

That's exactly the kit I bought from CW.

There are some good videos at this site: Blinds & Shades Replacement Parts | Repair Instructions | FixMyBlinds.com

Showing how it is done as well as spare parts/string, etc.
