Build plans from Jayco for new trailer still under warranty

Hi Everyone,

I recently bought a 2016 White Hawk 32 DSBH. I emailed Jayco requesting for any available build plans to show where the wiring and/or wall studs are.

Jayco responded that they do not send out plans to customers with trailers still under warranty. However, Jayco said that the dealer can request the plans, and Jayco will send to them.

I've read in this forum that some people had build plans sent to them right away. Is that because their trailer is not under warranty or did they get lucky with a "nice" Jayco rep? Should I try with Jayco again? Did I not word my request to Jayco correctly?

In the meantime, I've emailed the sales man who sold me my trailer, asking if he could request the build plans (as the dealer, like Jayco stated) and forward them to me. Lets see if he follows through, considering he's already made the sale :-)

I am in the same position you are in. Jayco refused to send me plans. I have been hounding my sales person who has yet to respond to my request. It just further supports my negative opinion of the dealership I purchased from...

Have a jayco 28rls called service department at jayco and they sent me all of the wiring schematics for my 2016 still under warranty. I must also add that I'm very persuasive and quite demanding, maybe that helped.....lol

If you have a cooperative dealer they will request what your looking for. Mine is out of warranty and was shot down for wall drawing for stud locations when I contacted jayco directly. Was adding a TV wall mount and wanted to be sure of a solid mounting. This coupled with some water damage letvalonecthe Thor acquisition is why we are trading early for another brand. Quite disappointed in the sudden lack of support and quality issues after only 2.5 years of ownership.

I agree that their acquisition by Thor appears to have changed their service level. They flat out told us that they don't care that we are their customer or if we remain a future customer.

PM me your email address and I will send you a bunch of 2016 28BHBE plans.

I had to ask a couple times and explained why I wanted them and they finally sent me some, I ended up with some others from other members here who got different ones.

I had to be persistent to get what I was asking for but finally got them.

It might be the customer rep. I had no issues while under warranty. I had a story all lined up of the said no. The story was going to be I needed to make modification for a medical reason to make the unit usable for a handicapped child. They did not need to know it would have been a lie.

Thor is a manufacturer of a large number of RV's and they just bought Jayco...

My trailer is a 2015 that is out of warranty. Jayco has told both our selling dealer and servicing dealer that build plans don't exist for our unit.

I had zero issues getting plans for our Fleetwood a month after we bought it. Not sure why jayco is being stingy. And we need them as our trailer is having various problems due to poor design and lack of build quality so we want to know what's where as we will need to rip things apart.

JAYCO has schematic drawings for all their units going back many years, but remember they are schematics not as built drawings. How do you think the dealers find things when needed? I've got the water and drain line layout for our 2015.

I had no issues getting a wall layout from Jayco on an Eagle TT we currently have on order. I needed it to help locate the stud layout so I could pick a good place to install a Kebloc mount on the outside of the trailer when it gets here. Seems it depends on who you talk to?

The 2 dealers I have talked to say they have never seen any drawings themselves.

I may call Jayco myself. They were such a pleasure to deal with the last time we called (not) that I'm a tad hesitant to waste the long distance charges. LOL
