Build Process

Just finalized the deal on my families new Jayco 32BHDS. My extended family and i are really looking forward to getting a lot of use out of our first new Travel Trailer.

My question to those who have ordered. Have any of you tried to reach out to Jayco to get updates on the build process? I can't really make it to Indiana to tour the facility, but thought it would be neat to hear when they start the build, maybe be able to get an idea as to when it was completed. I know it's a realtively quick turn around, and I know it's just another one rolling down the assembly line to them, but i'm not sure we'll have this opportunity again and we're trying to enjoy every step.

it takes about 6 hours to build it. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/21134540/vp/32468163#32468163 If you blink an eye you may miss it. We are waiting as well for our 28DSBH. Scheduled to be in Mass March/April. I was told the dealer knows when it leaves Indiana and goes to a shipping facility to be assigned a driver to deliver. But they told me once it Leaves the plant, they have no more tracking abilities until it gets to there lot. Oh the anticipation! We can't wait!!

Your welcome! I came across that video a couple of weeks ago. Crazy how its built so fast. Just wish it got here just as fast. Good luck with your camper when it comes in. This forum is great but addicting and expensive! (only because I want to do almost every mod I see on here)LOL

yeah, my mod list is growing by the day and the order is just being put in..

and expnesive? when does it end? i was finalizing details last night and the salesman, doing his job, kept saying "well for a little more.." i finally had to put it in perspective for him.. i said 2 months ago we were looking at $8k used units, and now i'm ordering new. I had to put a cap on it, because now i have to find the $ to outfit it..

I know exactly how you feel. Less than a year ago I was looking at 8-10k used units. But a practically brand new "used" 23J for 16k. Then had to buy a new truck and this year traded the 23J in for brand new white hawk. I think once it comes in I need to stay far, far away from the dealer!

That's crazy. No wonder there are a few quality issues.

WOW yeah, thats a heavy trailer for that TV. I was in that same situation when I bought the 23J. It put my Explorer at it's max. I went 1 trip and said the explorer had to go. Now with the 150, I forget sometimes the 23J was behind me. I wonder how much of a difference this new TT will be. I am not getting another truck!!

Nice choice blamb97!! We love ours, but we bought it off the lot in late 2011. I started off looking for something used and you can tell where this story is headed!

You can try to contact Jayco but your dealer will/can get that info for you. Until it is started it doesn't have a number, so Jayco can't tell you much. Your dealer can track that number thru the system from start to finish. Just remember they do one line at a time so you have to wait for them to start building that kind of trailer. When we ordered our 228 we had to wait for them to start the line, and just before they did our 2012 became a 2013 with new options. I was able to go to dealer and verify the items to be added to trailer even though the package I ordered was no longer available. Took about 30 seconds on the computer and it gave us all we needed to know. Good luck with the new trailer, keep us posted.

When did you take delivery on your 228?

We went to the factory last year, you get to se the higher end units built. We saw Pinnacle units the day we were there. We stayed at the Middlebury KOA which is close to the factory. Fun area, make sure to see the Shipshewana Flea Market, KOA runs a shuttle.
