Bumper hitch/carrier

2016 Jayco white hawk 23mrb:
I need a bit more exterior storage space for 2 honda eu2000i's, and sewer stuff storage.
Total weight about 200 lbs. I would move spare tire under the propane tanks. I would NOT use just the bumper.
Has anybody with a spread axel small trailer added something similar to what I have in mind?

I built a rack for the back of my 24RBS. You will have to tie into the frame. Does your unit have a factory receiver or the tabs welded to the frame to attach one? If you do, that can be a start. 200 pounds is a lot of weight to support when you hit a bump in the road. Jay

No, on the receiver and tabs. I'd have to add.

Any other opinions on current idea, or other options?
Thanks

There are tounge mounts for generators. But it adds weight to the front, which some set ups can’t deal with. There is also a folding rack that is sold but you have to have the right frame side to side distance and have enough room between the back of the camper and the bumper to attach it. Although my rack can easily hold 500+ pounds sitting still I limit it to about 125 pounds because of the dynamic load. Something to look at is how big the frame “I” beam is. Bigger is better. Mine is 8”. Pictures of the frame/ bumper area would help. Jay.

Based on what I have seen, it looks like you have enough room to clamp on the folding rack, like is used in some Forrest river products. Think Cherokee. The next important measurement is the distance between the 2 frame extensions. I tried to look up the folding rack, but could not find it. Etrailer has some mount brackets but not what I am thinking of. Whatever you do don’t clamp to the bumper, it will just tear off. Jay
