Bunk vs Queen mattresses

I hate the mattress that's on our queen bed. It appears to be a spring mattress and is too soft/saggy. The bunks in the rear are actually a lot more comfortable. What type of mattresses come on the bunks? Are they just foam mattresses? Anyone swap out the short queen for that type? Thoughts?

RV Mattresses

I miss my Tempur-Pedic when I am camping. I for one would like to find a suplier of RV Queen Sized upgraded Matresses.

We could not afford to replace our TT mattress with a sleep number like we enjoy at home, but the 4" memory foam topper from Walmart over our queen provides a very comfy sleep. It was right around $120 if memory serves me correctly and makes a night and day difference in our sleep experience. The only caveat is that it is horribly uncomfortable if the TT is cold.

I also use a memory foam topper. It has made a world of difference. I went with just the 2" because I thought it would do better in the cold.

It has only been an issue in our Avion when we had only electric heat. In our Jayco, the furnace and insulation help it not to be an issue.

We were surprised to see a foam mattress when we purchased our trailer. Too old for that. We upgraded to a RV queen Better Homes and Gardens with built in pillow top mattress. Wake up every morning with a sore back. Cost us 500 dollars for that feature. I will get a memory foam from Costco for next year.
The memory foam on our bed at home gets hot, but very comfortable. This one I notice gets damp it seems.
Problem I have is the bed is very high. If I add the topper I will be too close to the top cabinets over the bed. Already bump my head now getting out of bed. The only solution I see is cutting 4 inches off the bed side walls. Which means lowering the front pass thru storage too.
I think it depends on how the trailer was ordered from the factory. Some trailers similar to mine in other RV lots had pillow top mattresses included. Maybe why the store where I bought it was 3 grand cheaper than elsewhere.

I have the rear bunkhouse and the mattresses are just a piece of foam. I bought the memory foam to fit on top and find it quite comfortable as I don't like a hard bed. We have the pillow top mattress in the master and I also have a memory topper on it. Again, I don't like a hard mattress although the master is not that bad if I wanted to be without a topper.
