Camco hitch #48054

Okay just took delivery of my 2012 330rlts and need to upgrade my hitch. I have looked at the equilzer, and the husky.(currently have) Then I saw the Camco #48054. This hitch says it is the oldest hitch company but I have never heard of them.. We are just putting the trailer on a perm. site but would like to be able to move it quick should another hurricane hit our area like last year.. So i need a hitch but the equilzer is around 600-800 and the camco is 250 big difference in price.. What do you know about Camco hitches??

Don't know your tongue weight but I would go for the Reese straightline WDH and anti sway kit. They make a 2 1/2 inch hitch with 1700 lb. spring bars. They also have a 2" 1200lb. Kit.
Relative to the size of your trailer the 1700 lb. one might be the ticket. It is one of the best on the market without having to go the Hensley hitch and 3 grand.

Tongue weight is 1400 lbs. Trailer will only be moved around the campground Probably not on the road for a few years...

Welcome to the Jayco forums , and the 330RLTS is a great TT!

Keep in mind the 1,400lbs is the dry weight of the TT tongue, not the loaded weight. IMO whatever brand WDH you purchase, a 1,700lb rated WDH would be ideal under "loaded" conditions as Murphie suggested. A 1,400lb rated WDH may work, all depends on your loading habits.

I'm of the old school that it's always wise to have the WDH sized correctly, even for short towing distances (especially under emergency conditions). Of course the TV's receiver ratings would have to match the 330RLTS loaded weights as well.

I know you don't intend on towing the TT on the road, but having an integrated sway control feature with the WDH (like the Equal-i-zer or Reese HP Dual Cam) would be recommended at a minumum should your travel plans change (do the the weight and length of the 330RLTS).

I have the Reese srtaight line dual cam #1700 hitch with a 2 1/2" shank.
It gives me peace of mind when I tow my 330rlts. If you have to buy a hitch why not buy the right one the first time.

Great now I need to upgrade my receiver my tv only has a 2 inch receiver...AGGGGHHHH

If you are not towing it on the road, all you need is a shank and ball that is rated for the weight of your trailer. You can move it around the park for ~$50 with this setup. You won't be able to get out on the road with this setup should an urgent situation pop up though, so if you want to be ready for anything, I would get the Reese hitch. You can get a 2" setup with 1,500lb bars if you don't want to upgrade the hitch on your truck to the larger 2.5" opening.
