Camper smell.....gives me the bug

Am I the only one who goes into the camper for something while it is parked for the winter, and the smell hits you so hard that you want to just hitch up and go somewhere?

I'm right with you!

In fact, sometimes I catch a whiff of that smell from somewhere else and get the bug.

But for me, that wanderlust sits so close to the surface, it doesn't take much to bring it out!

What you're experiencing is common. It's known as CWS (Camping Withdrawal Syndrome) and there is only one cure, go camping.

Oh yeah. Mines buried in snow but I go sit in it every once in a while and daydream

Two years old and ours still has a whiff of “new trailer smell” inside. Brings back fond memories of all the great trips so far. Enough to drive you crazy.

It is particularly difficult when every time I look up from my computer it's right there. We are starting our seasons earlier now so I only have to wait till mid-March before we hit the road again. In the meantime I have a couple of projects in progress so I have an excuse to be in and out of it regularly....

I'm glad my tt is at an off site storage, and I cannot get to it. Or I would go winter camping with it.

The smell of a fire always does it for me. I camp alot with the scouts, and my Carhartt jacket, often smells of smoke, and that makes me want to go camping.

Funny y'all say this.

I just picked our rig up from Ford dealership getting a CEL repaired. It was in the driveway when DW and I rounded the corner coming home from somewhere the other day and she says "let's go to the beach". No hesitation from me; Reservations made, we're going!

No way I could stand to look at it every day. Especially this time of year; this is a fantastic time of year in S TX once the worst of the winter blows through. It would drive me totally bonkers. I know I complain all the time about not being able to store my rig on my property, but sometimes I think it may be a blessing in some sick, twisted way...

Yep! Smell, seeing other trailers out there, even driving my truck around town, all makes me want to load up and go!

I get the itch every time I see a camper on the road.
Unfortunately for me, that’s almost daily. We aren’t winter campers, and our first trip is at the end of March.
Can’t wait!

Bought our first Travel Trailer at age 51. Shouldn't have waited so long!
