Awesome, we made it through one sucsessful season with the boxer, even though we had to set out 3 chairs instead of two . Now we have another one to introduce to camping this year!

From the floorplan it looks like you can fit a puppy crate between the dinette and sofa or maybe in the kitchen area. You may not even need the crate. Dogs like a cave or a hidey hole and mabe you can fashion something along side the bed (your wife's side if you're smart ) with blankets and one of your shirts.

Our girl goes everywhere I go. She's my best friend and constant companion. We brought her home at 8 weeks and tried to crate train her at first, but she trained so easily I had her going outside within a week so we put the crate in the garage and that was that. She is never a problem when we camp. She's a big dog - very friendly and loves kids, and she's a kid magnet because she looks like a big stuffed animal (Golden Doodle) so people walking by are drawn to her. We always make acquaintances wherever we go because of her.

You'll be fine with your dog. Just be patient with your old buddy and considerate of your neighbors, and follow the campground rules and you won't have problems.

We let our dogs have the run of the camper. No room for another crate. We keep the kids in them.

Our Huskies go with us camping. Since they are sisters, they share an XL crate that fits nicely beside the island at night.

Our camper is on a permanent site which allows us to set up a 10x10 kennel for when the family is outside the camper. When not in the kennel they must be on a leash.

Virginia is a little warm at times so they are quite eager to spend time in the TT with the AC on. Even in the old TT, they are better behaved in the campers than in the house.

One other point regarding dogs barking, etc...

We have 4 children: 27, 22, 18 and 10 plus a 5 yo grandson. We let the kids be kids but always within eyesight and never allowed to free roam while a minor.

I get much more annoyed with parents that do not watch or discipline their children over hearing a dog be a dog.

This is just my .02.

Camping with dogs?

We just adopted 2 puppies a couple months ago. Our first trip with them will be next month. We used to take Buddy, our bullmastiff with us and never had a single issue. He was such a great friend.

These little ones are on a different level. LOL Bella is a 6 month old Black Lab. Bailey is a 4 month old Black Mouth Cur.

I am considering getting a raised bed for them when outside. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Buddy just sleeps on his bed at the end of the my bed, the only thing with him, I cannot leave him in there by himself, he will get up on the kitchen table,
If I sit outside at night he will lay in the door way to see me. but then will go lay in his bed

And he tied up outside, The last time there were so many dogs running around loose

I’ve traveled with dogs of all sizes for many years. All were crate trained. Dogs travel in strapped down crates in the bed of my truck. I have crate covers for inclement weather. I have a room enclosure that fits the awning so the crated dogs sleep in there at night. The dogs are usually tethered in the campsite somewhere with a crate nearby for a doghouse. I mostly camp at the beach so there’s lots of off leash space and exercise to be had.
