Camping World

On March 3rd*I purchased a new 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 28BHBE from Camping World in Gulf Breeze Florida.**The weekend before I was assisted by a salesman to find the travel trailer that best fit my needs. I had done my own extensive research and found that Jayco was one of the best made and had the best warranty’s on their travel trailers. During the time I spent with the salesman on the following Tuesday, it was much to my surprise what very little he knew about the Jayco. Many of my questions could not be answered regarding the magnum truss system, suspension system and differences between models. He didn’t seem very eager to win me over so it was a good thing I done my own research.

Later we were referred to another employee who done our walk through before we purchased the travel trailer. He also seemed to be unknowledgeable on the Jayco but was a really nice guy. The travel trailer had to be cleaned two times to be what we thought was presentable for buying a new Jayco. I then requested the travel trailer be road ready once I completed the paper work with finance. We later came back out to the travel trailer to find the tank was still full of water and connected to power with the owning and slide still out. This was all new to me and somewhat stressful knowing I would be pulling something this large for the first time. I could not find anyone to help me so I did the best I could to get the travel trailer road ready. The keys to one of the doors was also missing.**Just before leaving our salesman comes out to speak with me and gives me a master key and says he will mail me the correct keys because he could not find the correct keys. Once I arrived home and began to check everything over I discovered I had some of the wrong product manuals and missing the correct ones. I certainly didn’t feel appreciated nor was I satisfied with the service I received. One week later I’ve not heard from anyone regarding my purchase. On knowledge and customer service I give Camping World a “D”.

That's one problem you have when you deal with a corporate dealership vs family owned.

Gee, Marcus Lemonis' on air CNBC persona would not be happy with this sort of performance. Perhaps you should write him a letter.

This is the exact reason I own a Jayco. We were looking at a forest river (our nearest camping world deals them, not Jayco) and a Jayco. The forest river had more features we liked, but camping world's incompetent and high pressure sales tactics run us off. Kinda glad cause I love my 287bhsw!

I looked at CW in Gulf Breeze before we moved to Birmingham and then looked at CW in Calera before I went to a family owned dealer. CW is know for it's high pressure tactics. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your Jayco

Did you hear they bought Tom Raper and we are getting them to. Tom Raper is having a huge close out sale and starting in April will be a Camping World. Fairfield location is going to be doubled in size. Tom Raper does have a nice 25% off parts coupon I used to buy my surge protector so if you need anything get it now. Not sure how things will change. Made me glad we ordered our Jayco from Colrain RV because we looked at some Tom Raper stuff.

Where did you get your coupon from? I live in Cinci and need to get a surge as well. I actually purchased my camper from CW in Indiana because Colrain came in too late with the lower bid. Anyway, I am happy to have a CW in Fairfield so I can have warranty work done there. The facility is supposed to be huge. We shall see how the service goes....
