Well yea, you have to do that but also turn off the HD antennae probably behind the tv. Ours has a green light that glows when you're using the antennae. We just push the button and change tv settings over to cable to hook up to cable.

With any electronic device that hiccups, always restart the device first. Remove power from the TV for 30 sec, power back up. If you still have no power, I would go in to the TV’s menu, go to audio, make sure internal speakers are turned on.

Make sure you do a channel rescan too.

What Johnynorthland said. Cuz if you've got cable now but no sound, it's something simple like a setting or something.

Are you using a 3 connector RCA cable? Are the connectors connected to the corresponding terminals on your TV?
