If I don't plan on getting a generator should I still get a detector?

Absolutely. Other sources of CO still exist (furnace, water heater, etc.). I have several in my house too. They alerted us to a faulty furnace before we had more serious problems.

If you have a furnace, stove, or water heater that uses combustion to heat (propane etc.), my answer would be 'yes.' I don't plan on getting a generator any time soon, but I will have the factory installed detector and will be adding a second one.

I just picked up my TT. I thought it had one but apparently it's just a smoke detector.

If your rig is new or relatively new it is required to have one installed. I would look thru your owners package or check with the "dealer" who did the PDI with you for documentation on it.

That's what I thought, yes it's brand new. I thought it was weird I got a user manual for one but did not come with one. Calling the dealer when they open. Thanks

You should have a combination LP and CO detector. It will generally be down near the floor, as LP is heavier than air. CO mixes with air, and doesn't really matter high or low.

Mines a 2012 and has the combo.
