I silicone spray the seals a couple times a year (entire 5W) and the slide rails any time I hear a squeak http://www.amazon.com/Camco-41105-Sl.../dp/B000BUU5VS

Some use talc.

What should be obvious is to consult your manual or talk to the mfg about seal preventative maintenance.

My care and maintenance guide says to do basically nothing other than treating the rubber gaskets...which I do with this sort of stuff. There is also a piece of EternaBond tape type material on the slide roof where the roof meets the (exterior) side. On my 5er that came loose so, under warranty, they replaced it and I keep an eye on that cuz it could be a place for water infiltration.

I got this indirectly from a good source. Talcum powder the rubber gaskets is the only thing you need to do. First clean with a damp cloth real well then talcum powder them really well. This comes from someone who actually works at the manufacturing plant in Indiana.

I regularly wipe the dirt and grime off the rails that it rides on underneath. Nothing is usually needed but sometimes I will spray some dry silicone on them.

Another thing I do is run the slide in just enough for it to raise up on the inside floor, then stop it and crawl underneath and wipe a old cloth with some silicone spray in the trough the length of the slide, where the seal sits on the bottom. You will be shocked at the grime that builds up in that area. You can also raise the carpet on the inside and vacuum more grime out.

I also inspect the top material.
