CAT Scale Procedure Question

I am in the process of setting up a new trailer and WDH. I am going to the local CAT scale and want to calculate tongue weight, but have a few questions.

#1. When I weight the truck solo do I put the WDH on and the spring bars in the truck bed behind the rear axles? or do I leave it off?

#2. When I weight the truck and trailer together with the spring bars dis-connected, do I put the spring bars in the truck bed or the trailer storage compartment?

I not sure how much the impact on tongue weight would be but I want to be correct not just close.

Thanks
Chuck

Chuck,

Response to your questions:

1) Leave the WDH assembly in the TV receiver, the spring bars can be placed aside in the bed.

2) Leave the spring bars attached to the WDH and TT, just disengage them "prior" to entering the scale. If the spring bars will fall or swing away from the TT then place them aside in the bed (depends on type of WDH).

For reference if you don't already have, CAT scale how-to:

Yup, would you rather hear your Dr. say, “I know...” or “I think I know...”

Congrats on your new TT!

Thanks Rustic Eagle. I had seen that post but it didn't explain what to do with the WDH and the spring bars each weight. Thanks for the clarification. I am over 1000lbs tongue weight and I want to be precise.
