Caulking question

What type caulk should you use on the side corners to still be within warranty? My manual says use what is on it but it is some type putty that smushed out everywhere. As I said my unit is still with in warranty so I need to adhere to the guidelines.

It's just a putty tape you can get at CW or any RV parts store.

Butyl tape is the technical term, if I remember correctly. That shouldn't really be a maintenance item for a LONG time though. Any reason you are replacing it so soon?

Water coming in somewhere? We have one problem that is warranty and covered it but still have water. Need to get it stopped until we get it to the dealer. Caulk along sides looks good. Screws are screwed in way deep but I was going to put new caulk along the side just to see. I bought that tape but it is so wide. How do you apply it? Should you take pieces and roll them up and put them in? Wish someone had a video on this!

You might want to pick up a tube of this for your vertical seams. Any RV store should carry this.

Good advice from Tunce. Wet your finger of choice in mineral spirits and you can smooth the Pro-Flex to a professional finish.

Will using the Pro Flex void my warranty? We only put water from the top running light down on the one corner and got water on the inside? Didn't get any water on the roof or the light. The butyl tape looks fine along the sides? This is crazy????
