Ceiling vent.....

2017 Jayco Flight SLX 245 Baja edition.

Has no ceiling vent.
Would anyone know if there is the standard 14"x 14" framing between the ceiling and the roof?

I sure would like to put in a Fantastic fan but not at the chore and expense of having to frame in the standard opening.

I doubt that it is there. Call Jayco with your Vin number and ask for the roof drawings.

Someone on here last year did frame in for another roof vent.

I found out from Jayco that the framing is already in place for an additional vent over my front bed, but if it isn't, adding the frame in shouldn't be difficult and that's what I was going to do if it wasn't already there.

I asked Jayco and they sent me the roof blueprints so I can locate the opening accurately. However, from what I understand they might not send you the drawings if your unit is still under warranty. The drawings, if you can get them, would still help you in locating an appropriate place to locate the vent.

I just haven't gotten up the nerve to cut a hole in my roof yet, and my unit is 11 years old now, I would be even more nervous with a new unit!

The dealer wanted $600 (part and labor) to install a Fantastic fan in the living area......ouch!!

I too am lacking nerve to start whacking holes in the roof and ceiling...
So for now, a portable fan that I can run off the inverter will have to do.

Go on the roof in the morning when there is dew on the ground and your camper is warm inside. You can see all the rafters in the roof. I have one that is not used in my rig because a ceiling fan is in the spot. I can see the framing around the 14 x 14 hole clearly on the roof..

Still would sweat cutting to it but I don't have to.

I'd bet there is a 14 x 14 opening framed there, I'm surprised there is not a vent at all.
I installed a skylight with no framing without an issue; I'm guessing you could put the vent anywhere you want.
