Changing out Bath Fan, which sealants to use?

Hello everyone,

I have a 2018 Eagle 330RSTS. My first mod will be to pull the cheapo bath fan (which I can't reach to open) that has two little side flaps (never seen this type fan before); and replace with a MaxAir with remote control.

I plan on using some butyl tape and the some Dicor lap sealant to seal the screws. Is Dicor lap sealant the right product?

Thanks, Dan

I just got done installing 2 Maxxair Deluxe 7500k fans in our 2017 330RSTS to replace the passive vent in the LR as well as the EZBreeze fan in the bathroom. HUGE difference and allows for good ventilation with the frameless windows.

You are correct in your thinking. Butyl tape underneath and Dicor Self Leveling Sealant on the top. I wanted to stay with the grey colored sealant like the factory used. Here it is - https://www.amazon.com/Dicor-501LSG-.../dp/B00HJ6RUCE

Also used a hair dryer and plastic putty knives to sloowwwly remove the factory sealant. Came off really clean. Good Luck!

Thanks so much!

That's great to hear, I'm just going to do the bath for now, maybe change out the living room later on.

My 330RSTS is one week old, no big issues, except the mattress is junk, radio hum, and a few squeaks on the floor.

Thanks for the reply.

Dan

I used EternaBond to seal over the edges instead of Dicor cuz it's permanent.

BlueJay40.... Is the passive fan in the Living Room pre-wired for a fan?

You would think it might be wouldn't you. But no it's not, at least on my 2017 it isn't. I even called Jayco to make absolutely sure before I proceeded to locate a pair to tap into.

I can PM you where I spliced in if you wish.
