Charging power from tow vehicle or shore hook-up

I have a 2011 JayFlight (29QBH). Does anyone know how much power goes to recharging the battery when:
(a) plugged into tow vehicle
(b) plugged into campground hookup

I want to know power going into my battery(s) to estimate recharge time.

I have generally seen about 8 amps of charge going into mine when it is fairly discharged either way. When on the tow vehicle I am not running much power in the camper, when at the campground I am pulling much more power in the camper so the converter is having to share between the camper and the battery.

My 2011 31RKS came from the factory with a Progressive Dynamics 45 amp smart charger, one of the best in the business. It has a three stage charger, and "boils" the battery every 22 hours to keep the batterey healthy. Whatever is left over after the power requirements of the trailer is what goes into the battery. Usually very little is needed for running the 12V stuff, so it is entirely possible that you could get as much as 35-40 amps of charging. That is far more than you can get from the tow vehicle, which is limited simply by the wire size from the tow vehicle.

How can you tell what kind of charger is on board your trailer? I have a 32BHDS and have no idea where it is onboard....
