Check Valve on Atwood Water Heater?

Went to the RV supply store today to get a check valve for my 6 gallon Atwood water heater. The service guy said the Atwood doesnít have a check valve. He wanted the model number (which I donít have because my trailer is at our seasonal site) to look it up to confirm. So can anyone tell me if the water heater does or does not have a check valve?

The trailer is a 2018 Jayflight SLX 324BDSW.

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the pressure relive valve at the top of the tank?

No. The cold water inlet connection and hot water outlet connection of the tank.

This is what we bought as a spare for our Atwood water heater. I believe our OE valve is plastic. This should be readily available at any big box store, or well stocked hardware store.

Jayco has changed the plumbing a few times over the years. I recommend contacting Jayco with your vin number and ask for the plumbing diagram. This will confirm if you have one or not.

Do you recall how your winterizing valve configuration is? 1, 2 or 3 valves. Are any or all three way valves?

Single 3-way valve, you have a check valve.

Two 3-way valves, no check valve.

Three traditional valves, no check valves.

It is a dual valve bypass. One on the hot one on the cold.. not valve in between.

The check valve will not be listed as a Atwood part, it is on the outlet of the hot water line and just a inline check valve with threads on both sides. You may need to find the back of the water heater to see how it is piped.
