Circuit breaker tripping

When we run the AC and the Microwave at the same time the breaker trips. Is this common with 30A service. JayFlight 22FB.

No, everything should work with a strong 30amp supply. Now on 15amp it probly wont work without popping the breaker.

At campgrounds. I just talked to my dealer and he said you cannot run both the AC and micro at the same time. He said the AC alone draws 25 amps. So I guess that answers my question.

Check to make sure you do not have the water heater on electric. You should be able to run the A/C & micro at the same time, but not all three.

(Thanks for helping out! I had a feeling you should be able to do both).

We did not have the water heater on at all but we did have the fridge on electric. Maybe that's the problem.

Hammerdown: You're probably not going to be able to run everything at one time on 30 amp power. The a/c and microwave should be OK unless you've got a lot of other electric stuff running and/or a lot of other campers on your run are pulling max power. The further down the run you are the weaker it can be "if" others are pulling power, as I mentioned. It's one of the curses of 30 amp trailers or MH’s; hang in there though.

If I run the a/c, micro and fridge all at once I have no problem. If I plug in the purcolator and the toaster then the breaker will trip. I keep the hot water on gas, the fridge on electric and if I am making coffee and need toast then I shut off the a/c.

I dont buy that your ac pulls 25 amps.

You can check this a variety of ways but one easy way is to find your breaker inside your trailer for the ac and read what size it is. Allowable loads on breakers are only 80% of the rated load. So for example a breaker rated at 20 amps is only allowed by code to have 16 amps wired to it.

OK, we just had the opportunity to try out the microwave while using the a/c (as we have the a/c on non-stop right now). The circuit tripped! Our fridge was on electricity and we had the water heater on also. Sooooo then we switched the fridge over to gas and re-tried the micro again (with a/c running); the circuit didn't trip... yea! Thanks Eric (Sweet74) for the suggestion.
