Cleaning under cooktop

This morning I dropped hash browns under the burners.
How do I lift the lower, solid part of the cook top to clean under there?

It’s “spring” loaded in a way. You push backwards on the solid top and you feel it has some give to it. Push back and the front will then clear the little notches it’s locked into and then lift up. The back is set into two little springy tabs that you’ll see as soon as you lift up. It’s super easy to remove and sometimes a pain in the butt to get lined up perfect to reinstall it but be patient. You can see one of the rear spring tabs in this picture

Remove the grate, then slide the stove top towards the back and lift up.

Tip: Take one of the rubber grommets that support the grate to your local Lowes or hardware and get a few replacements. store them close to the stove.

They will get lost or wear out from vibration and cleaning.
