Clearance

Hi there
New to site and proud new Jayco owner (X213). Has anyone traded out the 13" rims for 14" on this chassis? Is there enough clearance without lift kit?

Thanks

13" or 14"?

While the radius of the 14" rim is 0.5" bigger, the outside radius of the tire is 1" more. If you now have 4" clearance in the wheel well, losing an inch of clearance would appear to be acceptable.
But remember that the suspension travel may use up the remaining clearance. In the above example, if you hit a large bump at speed and the suspension moves 3", your new tires will contact the wheel well and cause damage to the trailer or tire.

Are you looking for increased ground clearance, or smoother ride, or improved weight capacity, or better purchase availability? The 14" tires will do all of that, but only IF they fit your trailer.
