Cold weather camping

I’m brand new to rving..I just purchased a Jayco 267BHSW. Im planning on going to Banff and Jasper the first two weeks in October, I know we will have nights well below freezing, but it should warm up most days. Will I be ok? Is there something I should buy or do to protect my pipes from freezing?

Hopefully you have an enclosed and heated underbelly and your unit has a thermal package. Running your furnace should heat the underbelly and keep things for freezing. You would also want to unhook your fresh water hose if you are using one. We camp in below freezing weather all the time but not as sever as up north. No problems so far. In fact, we are leaving out tomorrow.

I have taken my tt hunting if the temps are dropping below 25 at night you will need to insulate the fresh water inlet that was the 1st thing to freeze on mine. We used heat tape and pipe insulation and that solved the issue. I don’t know how cold it gets at night where your heading but if the temps drop to the low 20’s you may want to look into tank heater, they are inexpensive and seem easy to install

Really depends on whether your trailer has a thermal package on it, with heated and enclosed underbelly. If not, you could get away with temps dropping to -2*C or so overnight and be ok, assuming things warm up in the day. City water connections tend to freeze first, as stated above, but you will likely be using your onboard tanks and pump. Whichever cupboard door the pump is behind, perhaps leave that door open overnight to allow some heat into there.

My trailer does not have the thermal package and I don't push it in freezing temps. When I use the trailer for fall hunting, I make sure the plumbing has been winterized.

We are living in our eagle while the house is being repaired from flood damage.

I sanitized our fresh water tank and lines and fill the tank as needed. In between I keep the hose stowed in the basement.

Our eagle also came with a skirting that I put to use. This also covers our sewer hookup.

Lastly, since we are stationary, we got a 200 lb propane tank.

I’ve been in a 330rsts since September in northern Wyoming. Use a heated water supply line and turned off the water supply to the refrigerator on the slide for the ice maker.

Skirted the under belly and run a couple radiator style electric heaters under the trailer and a tiny 140w heated under the bathroom sink

No issues so far down to 5 degrees F.

Sure to see sub zero in January and February.

Not sure it helps, but Wind Chill affects people/skin, not stuff.

Yes. Things, like the outside of the camper. Either way, the actual temp will be very near 0 F. The coldest we have ever been through with the camper

Addendum:

It was below -14 last night, we turned the heat up a few degrees. Other than a partially frozen cold water line to the shower, No problems
