Cold Weather - Lesson Learned

The temperature in central PA reached a whopping 23 degrees on Saturday morning and guess who forgot to pay attention and NOT turn the city water off, yep me. The line was frozen solid from the faucet, hose and filter. The only damage, besides no water for morning coffee was the wye at the faucet snapped in two. Could have been a lot worse but learned a good lesson. We did stay nice an warm in the RV, had an electric heater going all night and the RV heat only came on maybe a half dozen times in the night.

at least you caught it right then and there. Could be worse and be part of the many who find out their lines cracked after hooking up to city water in the spring.

You were a little colder than I was. It was a balmy 27 in center county. I don't hook up to water so I did not have a hose. The only thing I did was to open the cupboard doors where the water line runs, then I turned a small fan on low to circulate the air through the cupboards on the side with the most water lines. No problems.
