Coleman digital thermostat white wire question

For those that upgraded to the Coleman Mach digital thermostat... was the white wire capped when you received it?

Mine had an orange twist nut already installed so I am trying to determine if I got a used thermostat.

Thanks.

Did yours have a Coleman box or just the outer shipping box?

Mine was in plastic bag inside the brown shipping box.

Yep, white wire had a cap on it. Don't know why. If you're replacing the regular Coleman Mach thermostat it's pretty much wire for wire. If you have a smart phone, the first step after removing to old thermostat off the wall but BEFORE disconnecting any wires is to snap a couple reference pictures.

Mine arrived in a plastic bag inside of a small white cardboard box, the seller put the box inside of a Priority mail shipping box.

Mine was received the same way. It had the wire nut on the white wire and was inside a plastic bag with instructions and then wrapped in bubble wrap. The vendor (Amazon) sent in a yellow envelope. It was new. As for installing I just would undo 1 wire from the old thermostat/wall and then receonnect the new corresponding thermostat wire. It was an easy wire for wire match on the old and new so I did not have to write anything down or take pictures.

+1. This is exactly how my install went and it works great. Just got back from a trip with it and it is much easier to set and keep your temp.
