Just got back from our 4750 mile trip (4K towing our 2015 Jayflight 26BHS). Went up and back the East coast from Upstate NY to Florida and back visting family and RR for ourselves. All in all the trip was pleasant with a few exceptions.

1) Our Atwood furnace ignitor had a short and the furnace didn't work. Coming down we shivered in sub 30 degree weather. We found out the furnace was relatively new and no one stocked part 35100. In the process, one place that Jayco directed us to, fried the furnace control panel when diagnosing the problem. Further down the road, Jayco only authorized (trailer on warranty) the replacement of control panel thinking that would solve the entire problem. This fix got us back to the original problem. We finally got the furnace fixed while down in Florida where we stayed long enough for the part to get sent by Atwood.

We bought the trailer new last year and never checked the furnace - my bad. I'm thinking the ignitor was shorted from the get go. Lesson learned check all equipment long before a trip.

2) On some roads, the trailer bounces sometimes like crazy. This happened less than a total of 100 miles out of 4K but this is annoying. My trailer out of the factory is 6100 lbs and I tow with 1 2005 Silverado 5.3L 4.1 rear with 8800 towing capacity. Perhaps I didn't have enough weight up front. Any suggestions?

Thanks for posting your travel experience; especially your furnace problems. Hopefully the newbies will see the importance of doing a thorough PDI.

The bouncing can be an occasional 'harmonic' when the road, TT, and TV loads are just right... well, just wrong .

If it is the TT only and it is bouncing up and down but staying level and it happens rarely, there may be little that can be done. If it happens too often, then maybe adding shock absorbers to the TT would do the trick. IMO, it would be unlikely you have too little load on the front of the TT. If you haven't already, I'd try increasing the TT tire pressure to the maximum shown on the sidewall. This should change the tires natural 'frequency' and alter the bouncing rate.

If it is the TT and the TV
or your TT is rocking (not staying level)
then it will take more investigation and probably changes to the TT and TV loading and the TV suspension.
