Considering a 2019, 20 or waiting for 21 SLX8 242BHS

If im considering a 2019 new model that has likely been sitting since 2018, how much would you guys target off of msrp ? And that being said what would be the gap to be ok with between that and just buying a new 2020 or waiting for a 2021.

Im trying to factor in an extra year of depreciation loss im taking just driving it off the lot new as a justification for bargaining on it. Cause at the end of the day I dont mind a 19 , 20 or 21 as they are essentially the same trailer with the same warranty.

I just figured im in the drivers seat in regards to being able to talk down a considerable discount on the 2019 new model so curious everyones thoughts here.

Thanks in advance!

We bought our 2017 242bhsw in Feb of 2018 , regular prices up here in western canada were 30k , we were able to get our left over 2017 for 23k. Theres always good deals at the start of the year on last yrs model . Good luck !

WIth the "CRAZY COVID" market for RV's that may not be the case. Inventory is down and what is being ordered is probably already sold. Here's a recent article from RV Business. RETAILS SALES ARE BONKERS.

What Grumpy said. Also consider this: RVshare is HQ not far from me, so they get good press here....the CEO has shared that the rental biz for him is 1000% over last year between April 1 and June 1...can you imagine?. I drove past three of the RV superstores in NE Ohio yesterday and unless you are looking for a Class A...slim pickens. Even my local Jayco (family owned) dealership has the most empty lot I've seen in 15 years. One final: I bought my trailer used at one year old. The guy who sold it to me has already offered me $3K more than I spent. Around here, the only people who got a deal where the ones who bought at the January RV show here. After that prices reset and have only gone up as supply has gone down.

I was convinced we would see a boom. I wish I had invested more. The stock price really rebounded from the March lows. Just getting back to pre Covid levels is a big win.

Considering this season.

Given that almost half of the season is in the books I'd wait for late fall or possibly early Spring 2021. I've got a feeling there will be a lot of buyer remorse out there when all the new RVers that jumped in this spring and now realize that RVing is a bit more work than they thought. My guess is that there will be many barely used units hitting the market.

in 24 months or so you are going to see campers everywhere for cheap.. and the poor folks who sell them are going to be hurting... that is my prediction... YMMV... I am even thinking of selling mine and buying when the market heads south... sell high buy low... may one day I will get it right!

When I bought my new on the lot 2018 this past june, I inquired about lead time for a new unit. Was told October or November at the earliest.
