Coupler Lock
Just wondering what coupler locks if any you guys have found and had success with. I have tried 4 locks, the Diversi Tech DT25013, Tow Ready 63226KA and two Master Locks, the 378DAT and 379DAT. I know someone must have found a lock to fit this style hitch. I am going to keep my unit at a secured camper storage area but being that it's not on my property I want it as secured as possible.
thanks.

I used to use this one until I bought my 5er. It worked just fine for me. http://www.lowes.com/pd_40291-29318-...ock&facetInfo=
I have also seen some people use this one, but not on a camper. It was used on a regular trailer. Might have to measure to make sure it will fit http://www.lowes.com/pd_64413-29318-...ock&facetInfo=
Hope this helps.

Thanks, I have the little one through the latch already that picture is what I have so far. so i'm good there. I'm looking for one that inserts into hitch socket the like the second link. problem is that the width of my hitch that where the hoop fits around is just over the 4 1/2". so I can't get any to lock in. and I've tried 4, so rather than blindly go for a 5th, I figured someone must have found one and got it to work with this tounge configuration.

The problem is that you have a type "B" coupler as best as I recall they call it. It looks like a regular type coupler turned upside down. I suspect that you will have to contact a lock manufacturer and explain to them the type of coupler you have. Most couplers look like the coupler that is in lx22f/c's photo. I suspect that all that you will find on the store shelf are designed and sold for the common coupler. Long story how I found out about the two types of couplers. The suggestion by kris_12302 may be your best bet. HTH

I just use a standard master lock http://www.homedepot.com/p/Master-Lo...w#.UYUDusrsVVI with a long journal. I lock my hitch when not in use and I also use it as a locking pin once my TT is connected.

That little gold lock shown in your photo works well.. just remember that all your really doing is making it hard enough that the scum move on to easier pickings..

I use a pin lock 2 inches long through the coupler and insert a ball with the threads cut off in the socket. Nothing is going to stop a determined thief, but this should cause casual crooks to look for easier pickings. You could also go for a clamp on wheels lock(think "Parking Wars"). I had one for my utility trailer.

We have a 2013 Eagle 284BHS and have tried at least 5 different locks, and not a single one fit. I stumbled across this Master lock and after trying it in different positions, I got it to work. I enclosed a picture and this is the only way that it fits. Yes it locks it up nice and tight. As you can see, I still have the old stand-by gold lock in place.

I use a Trimax 100. I bought receiver locks for all vehicles, several pin locks, several spare tire cables with built-in locks, bike cables, and a couple Trimax 100's for several trailers. They are all keyed the same with a barrel style key. Better security, and no hunting for different keys. Better yet, i bought stainless. Theyll outlast me. I bought them all with plenty of spare keys from Heartland Lock.

We found the Fastway lock to work after trying three different locks. Fits perfect and seems to be very heavy duty!
