Cranky Propane Detector - Solved

Last week, while camping in Utah, our propane alert started chiming. We checked everything that uses gas, and it seemed like everything was off and not leaking. We didn't smell anything either. We reset the detector, and within a couple of minutes it was chiming again. And so it went on ....... I finally opened my trusty blue bag and looked for ideas. The Jayco guide listed all the things that could make the darn thing go off. Alcohol was among the reasons. In fact, Alcohol was present in the trailer. Earlier that evening an errant loaf of bread jumped out of a cupboard and spilled one of our highballs. I grabbed a towel, and wiped int up, and of course made a new highball. I hung the wet towel on a command hook, guess where? Just near the detector! As soon as the alcohol soaked towel was relocated to the tub, the detector quit chiming. Problem solved.

Thought you might enjoy our experience!

Well I'm glad you got it figured out. But I gotta tell you, if alcohol sets 'em off I'm in big trouble! Lol.
