Skip the grease gun. I lube about every 1500 miles. I have a tube of high temp bearing grease. I wipe the parts clean with a paper towel. Then use my fingers to wipe new grease on the ball and hitch parts. I cover the ball with a 12 oz (???) Solo cup.

Wd40 works great to breakdown grease and clean greasy parts.

How theses parts work, I do not freak out about some dirt in these parts.

I have a ez lift distribution system. I filled an old peanut butter with grease so I could have a screw on lid and use a 1" paint brush to apply the grease. When I hook up first I grease the ball using the paint brush and couple the trailer. Next using the paint brush I apply grease to the round end of my weight distribution bars. I then put the paint brush in a sandwich bag.

When I unhook I use a blue paper towel to wipe the bars off as I remove them and put the round end in an old sock before putting them in my front storage compartment. I also wipe the grease off of the ball before covering it with a ball cover.

When I leave I just repeat the process. I have done this enough that it only adds a couple of minutes to the process of hooking up and unhooking. I also use disposable gloves when I do this. Everything is kept in my front storage compartment. All trash is put in the outside trash container at the house or the dumpster at the campground and never in any inside trash container. So far I have not had any grease on my cloths or any other place it doesn't belong.

best reply on the topic!

I just put on a glove, apply grease to ball and toss glove. Sounds a little like a medical exam when I reread it.

Yeah, but that's only because we spell zerk with a zed instead of a zee.

Most of my noise comes from the anti-sway rather than the hitch setup. It is especially noisy if there is any moisture in there, but quiets down pretty quick once it dries out.
