I emailed the Danby company about drainage issues and winterizing and got this response. Based on it Jayco owners should dismount there Danby AC window units and bring them inside. Not going to happen with me but I will make sure it is fully drained and dried and some kind of waterproof cover is installed so rain and snow can't come in and freeze the insides.
Below is cut and pasted from the Danby reply:
Thank you for contacting Danby Group
Here are the recommendations for storing your unit during winter time
Store at room temperature. If your unit has to be left on an unheated area, make sure it is completely dry inside and out.
Wrap the unit in a blanket or tarp to protect it against dust.
The unit must be stored with the 'top side' up. It must never be stored on its side.
Try not to store the unit directly on a basement floor as the dampness can damage the unit.
As per the water, during air conditioning mode, most of the water created by humidity will be recycled and sprinkled over the evaporator coils to cool the unit down. Most of this water will be evaporated. Only during high humidity periods where condensate water will be created faster than it can evaporate, the excess will run through the back and will drain through your window, for that reason it is highly recommended to install the unit slightly tilted towards the back.
