De-Winterize

So I bought my trailer in NOV and learned how to winterize it myself, and has been stored since thin. Can Someone tell what they do to flush out the Antifreeze when spring comes. Do you pump water in like you do with the antifreeze or do you find a water hook up and flush it that way? Thanks for the help.

The easy way is fill the water tank or use the city water connection with a hose and flush the system. Then you need to bleach the fresh water tank and you are good to go.

Do you run bleach water through the hot water heater also?

Hooking up to city water is the fastest way. You will go thru gallons of water before you see the lines run clear.

If you are like me and only use city water at CGs, you can skip the sanitizing the fresh water tank. I sanitize the lines (not the water heater) by drawing in bleach solution thru the antifreeze suction tube. The bleach solution ratio and sanitizing procedure is in the manual. I do not sanitize the water heater, assuming hot water will kill any bacteria.

After flushing the antifreeze out of the system be sure to switch the water bypass valves to allow it to fill.

I also run the pump to flush it out and any associated lines.

We mostly camp OFF-GRID and it works out best for my style of off-road camping to use the BLOW OUT method of removing the water from my lines when we are camping in freezing temperatures. I drain the fresh water tank from the LOW WATER drain and if I open the HOT WATER spigot this will also drain my hot water heater down to its fill port line. After all the water runs from the low water drain point then I bypass the hot water valves.

Then I hook up my 12VDC small air compressor to the city water port using an air adapter and get all of the water out of the couple of water lines I have which goes down the sink drain. Then I add some of the pink stuff to the one P-trap I have under the sink drain...

The beauty of all of this is I can get back to using water again by just adding water to Fresh water tank. No antifreeze to deal with inside the lines at all...

Works good for us

If I had a bigger water system this probably would not be the best way to go haha...
