When we picked up our 5'er in January, one of the salesmen asked me if I wanted the extended warranty. I politely said, "Nope!", and he said, "That's fine, but they want us to ask each time." We've never been asked about fabric protection or signing anything saying we refused it. Guess we're fortunate, we have a good dealer here locally.
When we were ordering our truck, I called our RV salesman and asked him if it was worth having the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep kit factory installed. He asked what it cost, and when I told him, he said, "You better get it factory installed, that's about a third of what we charge to do it later."

We bought our first PUP from Jayco, and after a FR PUP (which is fine, except we're tired of the climbing out the bed over each other) we're going back to the same dealer for a Jayco TT - because the one FR dealer nearby is a big company and the other is pretty much a poo-hole. If anybody's in southern AZ or western NM and wants the name of the dealer, PM us.

Hadn't given it any thought until now but when we were with the dealer finance wizard last week when we picked up our White Hawk 20MRB, we were asked if we wanted an extended warranty. We declined. Mr. Wizard seemed a bit miffed and kinda grunted "well, it's your choice."

When he showed us the cost, I did ask him if he could provide it for a cheaper price, as I have negotiated a lower price for a warranty at car dealers. He replied no. Also of note that the seven year extended warranty is really 5 years as it kicks in after the Jayco warranty.

Dealer wanted me to sign a paper saying that decals where damaged during shipping and that I understood they were repaired. Of course this was 2 weeks after taking delivery and I was never told that decals were damaged and repaired when I purchased the unit. I did not sign, nor return the papers. They probably reprinted them and forged my signature..

Hey Murff, you can get reasonable extended warranty coverage through Good Sam. I carried it on my Outback 29BHS for about the last 4-5 years. I think it cost me about $300/year, paid annually. Deductible was $250. Because of that, I didn't buy the extended warranty from the dealer, either. Who knows - I may not have this trailer for the life of the extended warranty!

LOL... The "fabric protection" is about $ 10.00 worth of Scotch Guard sprayed on it. We've used it on all of our RV's. They get the stuff by the gallon, and it costs them very little... it's an enormous profit for the dealer.

Do it your self, and save a bunch!

Once. I had a HW heater problem and they replaced board, gas valve, and burner assembly. Only $250 out of pocket. But when a trailer gets to be 5 years old or so, I worry about things like a fridge replacement, A/C, etc. That stuff is NOT cheap!

Of course, the premium is based on the age of your trailer and how it is equipped.
