Dealer B.S.

Okay so I have learned never to buy local again as dealers are a complete pain. About to take delivery of the new Jay Flight we ordered next week. Dealer tried the up sell fabric protection crap which I have declined twice now. Now they are saying I will need to sign a waiver for it at pick up. Why should I have to sign a waiver for something I do not want that did not come from the factory? Sounds like they are trying to make it so I won't have a warranty if there is something wrong with the interior.

Local dealers are great IF you have some good local dealers. If not, it's a major PITA if you ask me. BTW, I agree with you on the waiver BS. You shouldn't have to sign anything for a dealer option you decline. I'd be very suspicious.... contact Jayco Customer Service (# is on their web site) and confirm what's covered in the 2 year warranty for your unit.

Car dealers make you sign a waiver for declining an extended warranty on a used vehicle. It's all just silly sales tactics. Any factory warranty still in effect CANNOT be denied based on that waiver. That's the law.

If it were me, I'd refuse to sign. And if they pitch a fit, just tell them you will buy elsewhere. Two can play the same game. In the end, YOU are the one with the money to spend!

I followed up again and it's a CYA form for the dealer. Not a waiver but rather a form saying they offered and I do not want the additional services. I just wouldn't word that as a waiver. Thanks for the quick feedback everyone.

Now to take delivery so I can go have fun... Which is what I thought ordering a new unit would be!

My dealer asked us to sign a waiver when we refused their extended warranty pitch. I should have put "signed under duress" under my rejection signature but they weren't pushy on it like some car dealers.

We have bought 2 campers in the last 5 yrs. No dealer ever mentioned fabric protection.
I would not sign anything. If that dealer is miss representing "Jayco" you might want to contact the manufacturer. The Jayco facyory has been very honest and helpful with us.
