Dish Network and the Built In Cable Connection
On my Jay Flight 26BHS, I'm trying to hook my Dish Network Dish and Box using the preinstalled cable connection on my trailer. Are the two not compatable? Will only be able to use Cable instead of Satellite Service with the built in cable connection? And yes, I do have the OTA button turned off.
Thanks,
John

Do you have a seperate coax outlet next to your antenna hookup by the TV?

Do you see two coax jacks with a short piece of coax between them anywhere near the antenna amplifier?

I only have one coax jack with a lighted button and a 12 volt receptacle all on the same face plate.

I can tell you that in 2010 the Jayflight G2`s were deemed "Satellite ready" in the brochure (whatever that means) and the standard Jayflights such as mine were not. I only have one coax connector also. I have never tried to hook up to satellite so no help there.

Here a mod that I did. Click on the general reference and a step by step guide will help.

I think I'm going to my local dealership and just order the newer face plate and install it rather than trying to mod my current face plate. Thoughts? Does anyone see a problem with my solution here?
John

This --> http://www.flamingsquid.com/images/satellite_rewire.pdf <-- is what I did since the new models that are "Satellite Ready" are done exactly the same way but with two face plates instead of one.
With the setup that came with the Trailer, my Sat Signal would not work with the Amplifier switch, and I did turn the amp off and still would not work. But with the mod everything works fine.
Thanks for helping me solve my problem and another successful mod.
John

I have a Jayco 2010 24T. I also have installed a dish network sat system. The sat connection is my input from the dish. The trick is the TV input. From the sat reciever I use a HDMI and from the antenna I use another input on the TV. So to switch from antenna to sat, I just select the proper TV input. Works great. I also have a dish with the dish align system. Bad days it takes a hour to get sat. Good days, it takes 20 minutes.
