DIY 2018 Jayco Eagle 306RKDS Receiver Hitch Platform

Never been fond how most 2" receiver hitch aftermarket storage platforms flex and rotate on bumpy roads--especially when the load is not balanced.

Our 2018 Jayco Eagle 306RKDS travel trailer has two outboard supports that are used to attach the ends of the OEM receiver assembly to the frame. I'm guessing other models of Jayco Eagles are probably mounted the same way.

Anyhow, a 1 1/2" square tube will slide inside these supports. These supports just happen to be positioned so that when we inserted two 1 1/2" square tubes, they lined up perfectly with the ends of this 24x67 platform we fabricated for our 306RKDS.

We can place a 100+ lb. generator and steel cage on the far left, right, and middle, with no stability issues.

Did your rig come with the OE rear sliding rack?

No, it didn't. Is this option available on the 2018 Jayco Eagle travel trailers?

Looked up some pics of these. Are these the ones where the bumper slides out, too? They looked like they only used the outboard supports (bolted, and not welded, to the frame). Although the sliding capability looks very useful, I'd prefer using the two outboard supports and the receiver hitch for a higher cargo capacity.
