Does anyone plug your overflow?
With the freshwater tank being so shallow (49gal), even a slight tilt of the trailer while filling can decrease how much water actually stays in the tank.
Depending on if the pavement is sloped while filling, also which end of the tank your overflow is located.
I noticed that my two overflow tubes run for a good minute after I pull the fill hose.
Does anyone watch their overflow tubes when filling, and when they start to overfill (run out the tube), shut the fill hose off and cap the overflow tubes to help prevent losing more water from the tank. I would think even after filling, the sloshing around with driving and turning will cause more to come out the overflow tubes if they're not capped.
Am I out in left field on this one or does it make sense?
Also, why are there two tubes for one tank?

Plugging those lines is a common practice. It's especially popular with boondockers. I just put valves on my overflows yesterday. Normally, I don't worry about it because I travel with tanks less than half full, but we're going on a journey where we'll need our tank's full capacity.
Just make sure that whatever you put on there can be removed or opened easily. You'll want them open when filling, as well as when you're using the water pump.

I put valves on mine so i can open them and allow them to function while filling but can close them to prevent water loss while traveling.

I need to do this mod as well.
I haven't looked that close yet, so does anyone recall what size the overflow hoses are- 1/2" id?
We just used our fresh tank for the second time (in two yrs of owning the rig) on our Higgins Lk trip a week ago. And of course I lost what seemed like 100 gal out of the overflow when I pulled onto the site. All because that was the low side before leveling.

I plug them with a couple of neoprene corks. They go in the lines when the slide goes in and pull them out when running the slide out.

If you have in the vicinity a place to run the lines up about 20" in a loop down problem is solved. If you forget in the routine to open the valves while filling the freshwater tank it will burst. !0 years ago the still connected them to the vent from the Fresh water fill.
They save a buck wherever they can.

You should be able to find them anywhere that sells plumbing supplies. Home Depot has them under the Sharkbite brand. I think they were the 1/2" size, but double check that. Slipped right on, 30 seconds start to finish.

A quick trip to a local auto store, ask for rubber hose plugs for a coolant line. You can slip them on and off easily. Don't forget to remove them once you're parked, the tank needs to breathe.

Yup, I got them at Home Depot. And yes, I think they were "Sharkbite" brand. They were on the aisle with all the PVC fittings. Found a package of 2, just what I needed, $7-10 I think? Unfortunately, I think I got 3/8" instead of 1/2" because I forgot to cut off a piece of the hose and bring it with me. A couple small hose clamps, and I was in business though. So far, no problems, but we're going on a long trip soon, so we'll see if any develop.
I'm going to have to remember to open them when we stop. That's not part of my routine yet, so I'm sure I'll forget at least a couple times...

I just bought these at Home Depot, a few minutes ago.
On a mission to end this water loss issue for good. Has been on my to do list for over a year now.
SharkBite 1/2 in. Plastic PEX Barb x 3/8 in. Compression Quarter-Turn Straight Stop Valve (2-Pack)-24605A2 - The Home Depot
I filled my fresh tank full about 8 miles out from a park last weekend that didn't have any water hookups. (black canyon of the Gunnison National Park) This isn't really boondocking, but it's as close to it as we've been this year and I lost almost half my water out the overflow, driving in for a 4 day trip.

When you say overflow tube, do you mean the small vent tube next to the single gravity fill inlet?
I have two 42 gallon tanks on my 23RB. I've never filled both of them up,
but I've never had any problem with water flowing up the vent tube.

The over flow hoses are under the camper. On my unit they are on the drivers side of the camper, behind the rear wheels, not that far from the dump valves. My low point drains are back in that area as well.

I plugged my overflow once but it blew out when I sneezed! (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

I don't see any over flow hoses on mine. Of course, my underbelly is enclosed.
All I see are two fresh water drain hoses, which have valves that open and close them. The two low point drains are in this same area. On mine, they are on the road side, in front of the tires.
I hope there aren't any over flow tubes that are emptying into the covered cavity around the fresh water tanks.

The easiest way to find out which is the overflow is to fill the tank until it overflows.
