Dogs and windows

Hey all,

We have a new 264HB and took our first trip about a month ago. Our larger dog likes to jump up on the window sill and bark from time to time esp when we got back from being gone. He nicked a few spots on the wood surrounding the windows. Is there something that I could put on the window sill to protect from nails? I noticed the kits they sell on Amazon are too wide for the little bit of sill these have.

Any ideas would be appreciated! We have a trip coming up in a few weeks. Thanks!

I can't think of anything that would be 100% effective. I know there's Bitter Apple spray to keep puppies from chewing on things they shouldn't, like furniture, and their feet. I'm not sure if it would keep him from putting his feet on the window if you sprayed some on it.

Attaching a length of screen would be ugly, but may protect the wood(?).

That could work.. really I would only leave it up when we are away.

I wonder if I could get some cheap carpet and command strip velcro it across the sill.. hmm.

Train your dog not to jump up. As far as fixing the damage there are many ways. You dont say what color, but go to any place that sells wood finishes and they will have color charts and samples of finished wood that you can match against your wood. Sometimes just brown kiwis brand shoe polish will work.
