Dometic ac fan motor lubricantion

For the last 3 camping seasons. The first trip out the fan doesn’t want to spin.
I can reach up in it and spin the squirrel cage a few times both directions and if feels really stiff. If I keep it a spinning while my wife turns the fan on it takes off and works just fine. You can rhen normally use it all season with no problems.

I’m wondering if there a grease fitting somewhere on the fan motor

There won't be a grease fitting, but it might have a place for light oil (3-in-1, sewing machine).

X2. I use 3-in-1 oil on fan motor shafts for all my household and trailer fans and it works great! Keep a small bottle in your RV for the times you need a drop or two of oil on your electrical fans and other moving parts.

I have had 2 rigs with Dometic roof top units and they ALWAYS had that problem when it sat unused for a short length of time. Apply a drop or 2 of 3-n-1 oil right where the shaft goes into the squirrel cage blower, give it a spin and it worked flawlessly until the next time.

I'm pretty sure the motors are sealed.

Just a note here regarding oil for small motors.
Never be tempted to use WD40 to loosen or lubricate a bearing. It will actually wash out any lubricant and even though the the motor will run the porous bearing will no longer contain oil and it will be dead in a few hours.

Also could be a motor start capacitor. Exact symptom on the equipment I service. But if some lube fixes it, whoo who!.

But it only happens once a season, wouldn't the capacitor be an ongoing problem?

Not an electrical engineer, just a stupid service tech who is beginning to miss relay logic. If you called us out, the company response would be-replace both and we shouldn't have to return. We dont work on hvac. We do vehicle gate operators. Jack of all related trades, master of none.

My life would be so much easier if broken stuff stayed broken.

I am 240 and move carefully on my 264bh. It feels a little spongy? to me.

Use some walk boards since the trusses are fine you need to be careful with the 3/8 plywood.
