Dometic Dotr12cbmicrowave replacement

My microwave oven has gone out and I cannot find the same model, Dotr12cb, to replace it, Dometic no longer makes that unit. Dometic now sales a bigger microwave and I am conserned that the vent hole will not line up when you go from a Microwave 22in wide to a unit 29 in wide. I also need a front mount because of no overhead cabinet, has anyone run into this? If so what did you replace it with? I have a 2011 Jayco Eagle. 330rtl

Google RV microwaves. I'm sure there are other brands out there closer to your original measurements.

I have googled for a week, gone to Sears, Lowe's,
Contacted dometic, I have even called Jayco and was told they could not help and good luck. I never thought it would be this difficult to find a replacement. Please any suggestions appreciated.

Have you checked with a appliance repair outfit. There's a possibility it could be fixed. Might not be cheap but another option.

Dometic doesn't make a newer unit that's close to your dimensions?

Have you tried Highpointe. They seem to be in a lot of the newer RV's

I think Camping World sells them.

I forgot to mention that I checked campingworld first and they had a the new Dometic microwave but it actually measures width of 29 inches which kind of throws my vent out of whack. Also you have to have a cabinet access on top to mount the new dometic microwave which i do not. My present microwave mounts with a back plate and two long screws in the top front to secure it. A repair might be my only option but i hate to repair a usually throw away appliance. THANKS FOR YOUR SUGGETIONS THOUGH!!!!!

A repair might be the easiest way, but not the cheapest.

Maybe check some of these RV salvage places. Big one I think in Missouri.

Think the name was something like Colaws.

Thanks for your advice but I have had no luck finding a replacement so far, now on top of this I have had a slide out actuator go bad that has to be replaced, slide stuck in the out postion. When it rains it pours.

A lightning strike destroyed my MW. I found one at Walmart that fit right in the same hole. The side vents were not exactly in the same place so I wired a 12vdc muffin fan in the back space with a switch helping with the air flow.

Works like a champ.

Dometic Dotr12cbmicrowave replacement

It's a Frigidare . It is a front mount. I used the same brackets from the old one and put them on the new one. Had to drill a couple of holes on each side for the bracket. I'll post a pic and model # tomorrow.

Even though mine is a 5th wheel I think the FP is close.

Yours looks great. My problem is my model does not have a shelf under it to set it on. There is a back plate that mounts to the wall that holds
it in place. Once in the bracket to bolts hold it in place from the front. I'll try to get some pictures as well as I now have it out of the camper.

It sounds like the mounting system you have is the same way a home microwave is mounted above a stove.

If your MW is mounted above your stove, building a shelf won't work either for obvious reasons.

Did you check the RV salvage yards for a replacement?

I know counter space is at a premium in all RV's, but have you considered a small countertop unit? I do not like to light the propane stove in our unit for small stuff so we bring a Countertop toaster oven and do a lot of cooking in it and then just store it when not in use.
