My Dad has a nice Class C & has RV'd forever... he habitually (with all the different RV's he's gone through) has a 'household' bolt-lock installed on the door. I think he once had a locksmith put one in (couple 100 bucks or so) and once had the dealer do it. I'll have to ask him for a more specific answer....

I'm interested if anyone else has any answers for you - considering the amount of crap in the storage compartments too, it's probably worth looking at changing those locks too...

That's so ironic! Don and I were just talking about this on our last campout! He mentioned that he may check locally to see if there are some options for us. Actually, that would be nice to know

I am curious as well. We have to store ours at a storage lot and I always fear that someone will get into the trailer or the storage compartments.

Yup. Old man (who's cheaper than I am) called a locksmith, who drove out to the house, drilled a hole through the door and installed a good household weiser lock onto the RV. The door is thin, so I suspect that he put in a different sized bolt to go into the aluminium frame. Total bill was $100...cash. Dad figured that it was easier to have the locksmith show up & do it then it was to buy the lock, tools, and do the deed himself. He's happy. Mom's happy. The rest of us can relax now.....

Oh - and that's in Canadian dollars... so, right now, that would be $96.21 in greenbacks. That'll leave enough money for at least a bottle of beer.... I call that a good deal!
