Door Shade

Any advice on installing a door shade on a 154BH? There is a shade called slim shade but there does not look like any specific installation instructions

I bought the Safoner "RV door window shade cover" on Amazon for $18.99. It uses Velcro to mount. Out of the package it had a fold crease but that has evened out. I used it on my class C door. Amazon shows others too.

I got one for my 5'er and it's a PIA. It doesn't go up easily, you have to basically "feed" it to go up because the pleats don't line up like a regular shade. You pretty much have to fold it yourself. What used to drive me crazy was the fact you had to pretty much go outside to put it up or down because of the screen door. Maybe you'll have better luck.

I’d kinda agree with TWP723, we got the Lippert Thin Shade window kit.
We do like the tinted window, as opposed to the frosted and do like to block out the light with the shade, as opposed to the condensation, etc involved with using the various types of covers.
But the shade does rattle around in it’s frame; it cannot be adjusted from inside (as TWP723 has stated) you have to raise or lower it from outside; the clips that hold the shade in place are prone to breaking.
We basically just set it up and leave it.

I did the Lippert Thin Shade on our door. It does go up and down very easily but it is as TWP said a bit of a pain because you do have to go outside and raise or lower it. I don't know why I didn't realize that until after I installed it. It's common sense that the screen door would be in between but I just didn't think it through.... I am calling it a senior moment to make myself feel better!

Thin Shade

I to have the thin shade on my Jayco. It has worked well for me so far. I also over looked the fact that you need to go outside in order to lower and raise it🤦🏼*♂️. I am not sure how this got by me. It ranks as a good purchase for me.

Ours stays down most of the time for all the reasons above. I'm glad it's there, but I'd have to imagine there is a better and cheaper option.

Bought mine from IKEA for less than $20.00 and just attached it to the valence. Works great & keeps the heat & any night lights from outside during the night.
Comes in white, cream , tan or beige. Now that was about 5 years ago

I don't care for ours. Stays closed all the time so it can block out sunlight. PITA to close with the pleats and you have to basically be outside to open or close it.

I cut a piece of Reflectix to fit, edged with tape and attached with Velcro.
Priceless!

I was thinkin the same thing if ours had not come with the slimshade. I just keep it closed all the time.

Got a piece of black 1/16th foam board, cut to the window frame and mounted with Velcro. Cheap and works great.
