door window shade

I would like suggestions on a shade for the window in the door. the glass is frosted, but still let's light in and I like it dark when I sleep. any cool ideas out there? I have a 198RD, although I think the door windows are pretty standard.

Here’s one option:
http://www.zarcor.com/rv_products/rv-door-window-kit/

Amazon:
RV Door Window CloZures Shade, Controls Sun Glare, Privacy, Outside View by Moving fingertip Lever, Without Opening Screen Door. Kit Includes Clear Glass to Replace Frosted Glass. (Light Beige) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077Y6LGSF..._KOmnCb0T415YE

And Another:
https://www.campingworld.com/slim-sh...saAssQEALw_wcB

Personally not used these but have been considering.

Reflectix. I bought a roll, cut it to fit, sewed decorative fabric to it, and secured it with command Velcro. I take it down when we don’t need it since we usually like the light.
You can make one without the fabric liner, but I wanted a little less cousin Eddie.
If I can find my pic, I’ll post it.

We found smoked safety glass which matches all the camper windows.

A bit OT, but have you used this shade in the winter time? Did it cause condensation to form in between the shade & glass??

We haven’t used it in winter. We would only use it to either block out the sun to get little one down for nap, or to cool the camper in the summer.
I would imagine condensation would be an issue in the winter if it were left up.

We have the last link down on both doors. Clear glass to see out then privacy and zero light when you need it.

My eagle has one built in but I haven’t figured out how to open or close it with out opening the door and opening the screen door from the door to access it.

Seems like a stupid design - or it could be me that is stupid because I’m missing something ; )

In a pinch you could just tape some aluminum foil over it until you have a better solution.

I like the looks of the one you use, but, do you have to open your screen door to access that shade?

That's what I was thinking. Open both doors, unlatch the screen door, close the shade and close both doors. Then if someone knocked on the door you'd have to open the door to see because you couldn't access the blind through the screen door. I'll pass on this one and do something like Tunce did.

A little hard to see the shade in the up position and no instructions necessary, you just raise it or lower it.

I’m looking closely at this option. That way you don’t have to open either door to view outside.

What we did was take a black out curtain and cut it to size and hem. The wife sewed in a dowel rod to make it appear it is hanging on a curtain rod.

However, it is actually attached with screw snap fasteners. I used the top corner screws (removed the original screw and used it to attach one part of the snap fastener) in the window with the screw snap. The other part of the snap fastener then was attached to the curtain. It blocks out I would say 90% of the light.

We just pretty much leave them up all the time. Unless we leave the main door open if the weather is nice. It is pretty cheap and easy to do.

It looks good. I thought you had it mounted on hardware and was going to ask how.
I attach my shade with command Velcro.

Our camper has two doors and we installed these—> https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/...-black_20.1562

Downside is you have to separate the screen door from the regular door to change position of the shade. With that being said we always leave the one in the living area open and the one in the bedroom closed, so for us it doesn’t matter. Clear glass you can see through is much better than frosted glass.
