dump black tank first

I always dump black tank first followed by grey tank. As told during the walk through . But I never really know why it has to be done in that order.

Can someone please explain why?

Is that so that the sewer hose is flushed clean? or something more on the internal component of the rv?

You got it! To flush any solids out of the pipes and external hose.

Dumping your gray last washes out the worst of the black tank "stuff" from the hose. It is easier to rinse the gray from the hose than the black.

I was told the opposite during my walk-through so glad you posted this thread, OP. I was also told if the camp site had onsite sewer I could just leave my gray tanks open the entire time. I am thinking that was bad advice as well.

Keep your black tank closed. Keep your gray tank open.

^ ^ ^

Never leave your black tanks open, or solids will settle on the bottom of your tank

The Grey tank is nice to have to power flush the hose after you drain the black tanks, but you can leave the gray tank open if you are running the shower for example
